19-year-old Iwona Wieczorek was last recorded by monitoring at entrance no. 63 to the beach in Gdańsk Jelitkowo. It was 4:12. The camera footage shows a man with a towel behind the girl walking alone. Despite the appeals of the police, he was never found. From this place, Iwona is approx. 2.5 km away from her apartment in the Jelitkowski Dwór estate. But it doesn't get to him.
The woman has not been found until today. For 12 years, numerous searches were carried out on, among others, a forest in the Reagan Park in Gdańsk, as well as allotment gardens in the Tri-City. The search was initially discontinued. In March 2019, it was transferred to the X Archives in Kraków at the Małopolska Branch of the National Public Prosecutor's Office.
Earlier, in autumn 2011, experienced officers of the Police Headquarters were sent to analyze the case. Among them was Marek Dyjasz, the then head of the Criminal Bureau of the Main Headquarters, former head of the homicide department of the Warsaw Police Headquarters, and now a lecturer at the WSB University in Opole.
