A plane carrying 126 people caught fire once its landing gear collapsed on the runway at Miami International landing field on Tuesday.


The dramatic incident happened once a Red Air flight arrived from Miami International airport, Dominican Republic, aforesaid Miami-Dade aviation department representative Greg Chin.


Three individuals received minor injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment, whereas the remaining passengers were bussed from the location of the accident to the terminal.


The plane was coming back from Santo Domingo around 5.30pm once the incident happened.


It perceived to have return to rest close to a rushlike area by the aspect of the runway.


Some flights were delayed because of the fire, landing field officers aforesaid.

A 36-year-old mechanic from RED Air interviewed by the Miami Herald provided his initial impressions concerning the landing of the plane on Tuesday night, that he describes as being a “hard landing”.


Hector Dejesus, used by the airline and a former Dominican military aviation mechanic, initial told a communicator from the Florida-based outlet that he thought maybe there was a pilot error within the landing.


“I suppose it absolutely was a tough landing. we tend to do maintenance all the time. I suppose it absolutely was that,” he told the Miami Herald. “I’m in shock. i'd see things like this within the air force.”


An investigation into the crash is being handled by the National Transportation Safety Board, WHO told reporters they’d be causation a team of investigators to the incident site on weekday.
